Our staff are highly experienced and credentialed in using proven, evidence-based therapies to help each client successfully achieve long-term recovery from eating disorders. Our clinical teams provide multidisciplinary treatment that uses medical, nutritional, psychological, and psychiatric interventions in collaboration with each client’s community of outpatient clinical, family, and other social supports.

Tailored programming, designed to meet the needs of each client, includes psychotherapy groups, individual therapy, nutrition education, meal planning, family therapy, medical or medication management, and aftercare planning and assistance.

Note: We do not accept Medicare, Medicaid, or TRICARE; however, we do offer many ways to pay for treatment including out-of-network and private-pay options. Currently, we are in-network with Anthem. Additionally, our Admissions Team works with each client to make our world-class treatment available to them.

Levels of Care

At Aster Springs, we don’t take a one-size-fits-all approach to treatment. Our continuum of care ensures clients can step up or down into the appropriate level of care with a cohesive, dedicated treatment team that partners with our trusted clinical partners to help transition clients to traditional outpatient and aftercare programs.

What To Expect At Aster Springs


Aster Springs DOES NOT participate in Medicaid, Medicare, or TRICARE programs.

We specialize in treating all adult women (18 years and older).

Entering treatment is one of the biggest steps in recovery and trying to navigate all the details can often feel overwhelming. At Aster Springs, we do our best to alleviate any worries or stress about the admissions process. We make sure our clients feel at ease, well-informed, and prepared before entering treatment.


  1. First, you’ll speak with a member of our Admissions Team via phone at (804) 415-7603. They will go over pertinent details including personal information, medical history, etc. to determine if Aster Springs is the right fit.
  2. Our Admissions Team will then verify your or your loved one’s health insurance benefits, as well as payment options.
  3. After insurance verification, we will coordinate the travel details.
  4. Upon arrival at Aster Springs, you or your loved one will be warmly welcomed by our staff, who will conduct an in-person assessment with the client.
  5. After the assessment, the recovery experience at Aster Springs begins.

Paying for Treatment

Aster Springs offers multiple payment options, and we ensure that each client has a financial plan that works for them prior to admission. Currently, we are in-network with Humana.
Our Financial Team takes the time to help each client understand their benefits and cost of care so there aren’t any surprises. This is vital so our clients don’t feel burdened while they’re focusing on treatment. However, we do not accept Medicare, Medicaid, or TRICARE.

Our residential and partial hospitalization programs accept adult women (ages 18 and older). In partnership with Pasadena Villa Outpatient – Richmond, our intensive outpatient program accepts adults of all genders (ages 18 and older).

They can answer any questions regarding admissions and can guide you through the next steps including assessments, reviewing payment options, discussing admission dates, and ultimately working with our clinical team to determine the appropriate level of care needed and if Aster Springs is the right fit.

Every client is different, and the length of their program depends on their progress in treatment. Another factor is the insurance provider’s willingness to authorize treatment. Our team will do our best to advocate for the appropriate level and duration of care that will provide the best opportunity for sustained recovery.

Family involvement is an integral part of the recovery process, and we work to accommodate visitation as much as possible. We also encourage regular family therapy sessions in addition to family workshops. We strongly believe that recovery is a team effort!
